Eugene N. Myers, MD, FACS, FRCS, (Hon) Edin. is Emeritus Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Temple University School of Medicine.  He did his Residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary – Harvard Medical School.  A Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery in New York with Dr. John Conley followed.  Dr. Myers became Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1972, a position he held for 33 years.  Dr. Myers is a specialist in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery.  He has published hundreds of articles, book chapters, and many books on the subject.  Dr. Myers is a past President of the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Head and Neck Society, the American Laryngological Society and the Pan American Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He continues to be very active in patient care and teaching.  He is also the Director of the International Visiting Scholars Program in the Department of Otolaryngology which attracts many physicians, residents, fellows, and students from overseas as observers or researchers in our Department.
