Dr. Maxwell specializes in head and neck cancer surgery and endocrine surgery. Her clinical interests include the management of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, parathyroid and thyroid disorders, salivary gland abnormalities, and transoral robotic surgery for HPV+ tonsil and tongue cancer. She works closely with the multidisciplinary cancer team at the Pittsburgh VA and UPMC to provide comprehensive and state of the art care to her patients.
Dr. Maxwell is on the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Task Force. She is also on the American Head and Neck Society's Annual Meeting Program Committee, Endocrine Section, Salivary Committee, and Women in Head and Neck Surgery Service. Additionally, she is on the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery's Head and Neck Surgery Education Committee.

Education & Training
Dr. Maxwell's research interests include clinical outcomes among veterans with HPV-related head and neck cancer, resident education in head and neck surgery, and circulating tumor DNA in surveillance of patients with head and neck cancer.
