The Division of Speech-Language Pathology sponsors five clinical fellows each year.
- UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore Hospitals – Acute – 2 Positions
- UPMC Shadyside Hospital – Acute – 1 Position
- UPMC Montefiore Inpatient Rehabilitation – 1 Position
- UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital – Acute & Inpatient Rehabilitation – 1 Position
The Clinical Fellowship Program is one full year, comprised of 90% clinical experience and 10% continuing education and presentation-based experience.

As per the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association requirements, the Clinical Fellowship is open to applications who have completed graduate-level education in the Communication Science & Disorders/ Speech-Language Pathology
Clinical Fellows (CFs) work alongside full-time clinical staff to develop high-quality clinical skills. Our division follows the ASHA Clinical Skills Inventory to guide CFs toward becoming independent clinicians.
