Dr. Nick Fung was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. He graduated with a degree in Biology from Case Western Reserve University and attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During his time in medical school, his research was focused on prognostic indicators in HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer and the evaluation of social outcomes after facial plastic surgery. Outside the hospital, he enjoys hip-hop dancing, cooking, soccer and sneaker collecting. Nick was attracted to UPMC for residency because of the strong comradery shared between the residents and faculty, the depth of the surgical training and the vast research opportunities.
