Dr. Katie Melder earned her BS in Neuroscience from Tulane University in 2012 and then received her medical degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans in 2017. In medical school, she served as Class President and discovered a passion for leadership roles. At UPMC, she serves on the ENT Patient Safety Committee and the GME ARQC Committee. Her research interest includes endoscopic endonasal access to orbital tumors and anatomic studies. Katie chose UPMC because of its incredible legacy as a training program, engaged faculty and collaborative environment. During her free time, Katie enjoys baking, watching basketball and spending time outdoors with her dog Saturn. She is a native of central Louisiana and loves eating crawfish whenever she gets the chance.
